Chasing Mike and Daphne

As usual, I am early @ the meeting place.

At past 3am I am already @ SM Bacoor to meet Daphne. She’s already @ 7-11 by the time I get there.

Off we go to Tagaytay via a very morning in a very cold bus. LOLS

Since it’s quite early and we need to eat, we stayed @ McDonald’s Tagaytay (like always) and waited for Mike.

By quarter to 6am, we’re off to our route.

After a brief rest, off we go again for the additional distance to complete 21K.

I may have oversped. LOLS.

I tried my best to catch up and I constantly failed. Well, Daphne is really fast. Mike too. I could only look and not find them in my sight. LOLS (I need to invite a slower runner next time…:))

I have just activated the Orange F50 adizero Racer. ๐Ÿ™‚

it’s the perfect replacement to the old Green one. ๐Ÿ™‚ Btw: the Green F50 Racer’s Mileage to date is = 616 kms. NOt bad for a nice shoes!

Lately, I’ve been loading a lot of bread. ๐Ÿ™‚ Top is a Cheesy Dog, Middle is a Coffee Bun, and the Bottom is a Cinnamon Raisin and Walnut Bread. I don’t get tired of the taste. It’s the ones I usually buy @ Dough Joe. ๐Ÿ™‚

5th BDM 102 is near. Exactly 8 days to go! I hope they’re all ready and prepared. ๐Ÿ™‚

Looking Forward

I am looking forward to Chapter 699 of One Piece.

Rurouni Kenshin is one of the best so far. I even thought that the story shouldn’t have ended the way it should.

Some Thoughts

The 5th BDM 102 Ultramarathon is near. Exactly 17 days before the gunstart. It’s one event I will miss for this year – but I will be there as a support.

The veterans who will be running it for the nth time will just be taking it easy again. However, for the new ones who will experience it for the first time – we can’t really tell what will happen. It really is all up to them. Strong or not – the result might just be different. The race plays on too many factors.

  • the long distance
  • the weather
  • the overall preparation of the runner
  • the general body condition on race day
  • the toughness of the runner’s mind

There’s just no room for mistake.

It could be too long to some. The distance might just overwhelm the unprepared.

The weather could be harsh. It could turn out to be too hot. Lucky to some, and unlucky to others if it rains.

Mileage may just not be enough.

Lack of good sleep might play a big role.

Inadequate hydration and refuelling might also surface.

The runner might just crack as the distance nears…

Nothing is certain.

It seems.

But some thing IS!

IF you believe you can…

IF you are up to the challenge…

Then it’s a battle!

I can’t wait to watch this time. I wanted to run, yes, but I will be supporting a good friend of mine.

Prayer helps.

and it’s race day for the aspirants of the BDM 102K Ultramarathon.

Nope, I am not running this time. No BDM for me, this year, but – I am supporting a good friend –

We already have a complete crew. We already have taken up almost everything important he needs to know about the race. All that’s left for him to do is run on race day.

While I do not meddle in his own training- i I do believe he can easily do this. We’ve done Mayon 360 together. That’s enough a good gauge to forecast how he will do in the longer one.

3 weeks before race day is the most important of all days for a newbie runner in this category. 102K is not that easy – but it is really THAT easy for someone who has done it more than twice. A runner MUST know what to do, and must have prepared so well – heart, mind and body – for this feat.

Neglect to do what needs to be done – and you’d be left with fate alone to determine how you would finish.

It’s not just a show of brute force but more of a parade of good strategies.

Anyways – let me not spoil your excitement.

Let your own experience of it be your own teacher.

In the end – right there at the finish line – you’d find the truth about it.

It is a journey. Some people are just blessed to have good guides. ๐Ÿ™‚

Unang Takbo

Habang nangangarap makatakbo ng mas mahaba, ayun, nasa 21K category ako ng Condura Skyway Marathon 2013.

Unang karera ko ito sa taong ito. Tumakbo lang ako at hindi nangarera. Wala ako sa kondisyon para mag-ubos lakas.

Maaga kami dumating ni Dapuni. Past 2am lang. 3am ang assembly time. Awa ng Diyos, 4:00am na pinalabas sa hawla ang WAVE – E. Antok na ako.

Dahil plano ko lang tumakbo ng walang pressure, relax lang kami nagsimula hanggang sa mabagot si Dapuni. LOLS ๐Ÿ˜›

Di ko na siya inabutan sa U-turn @ 10.5K. Medjo gusto ko rin magmadali kaya naman kambyo na ang ratsada pabalik. Maraming naglalakad na parang namamasyal lang. LOLS ๐Ÿ˜›
