EARLIEST

Like always.

I was already at Ternate at past 5am. It was too cold.

I have had a Shawarma at Coastal Mall before taking the bus to Tanza.

I had my coffee at Jollibee Tanza before proceeding to Ternate.

Before 6am, I ate a Pork Asado and Rice before the sun rise.

By the time light comes, and people start coming, I am already sleepy. lol.

I lead the group climbing up. Gave a lot of instructions climbing up the Monolith and going down. Again, a lot of instructions going down the 2nd Peak for the new ones – strangers included.

Thanks for the Chicken Adobo! And the Tocino with Rice.

I ran out of water but I wont complain.

The heat is hot enough but not so hot.

Took me a lot of time going home…

I have prepared and later found out that I have not done enough.

I have completed the 1st Leg – Manila to Dau 90 kms on time. Thanks to a Leg 1 Finisher’s Shirt!

After starting for the 2nd Leg Dau to Urdaneta, I had to stop at Gerona, Tarlac due to a very stiff quads. I started at a 5K per hour walk – hoping to feel better and start running before sunrise. I was able to but for a very short while only. Entering Tarlac City, I did my best and tried –ย  but I can’t maintain a good 5K per hour. It was a struggle. It is already too hot and I am unsupported. I had to call the shot right there and then…while I can still walk to get a ride.

It’s an epic race of epic proportion. I would like to complete it too. Maybe, next time. ๐Ÿ™‚

But I finish what I started. I will schedule a run from Gerona, to Baguio. Soon…when I get a visa. ๐Ÿ™‚

Special Ponderings

I have and will always believe…

For the need, and the importance of a support crew.

Yes, that is especially so when they work effectively to push you when you already have reached your limit.

They guide you when you are lost.

They lead you.

They send words of encouragement while yours is slowly getting crushed.

They cheer you up when you are broken and crying.

They give you reasons when your mind is somewhere.

I’ve been a pacer for a very long time already.

I know that I do well.

Now I have an event.

A very big event.

An ultramarathon.

An epic one.

Now I don’t have a crew.

I wanted one, but.

I can’t afford it.

I can’t just drag anyone along with me and make them suffer. ๐Ÿ™‚

I have only enough for myself.

I don’t even have a place to rest.

I wonder how I will fare…

..If my mind is tough enough for this epic run adventure.

Of course I will need to drink, eat and rest too. Everybody else does.

Only, I have no one with me in particular.

I can only put all my trust in God.

This run is all for His glory!

Not even mine.

I literally grin at my ideas and how I would look at race day to the end of the line. ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyways…there’s still time. As of this writing, 10 days more to go before gunstart.

The Lord will provide.

He said He will never leave me, nor forsake me. I trust that.

It’s race week… and I will be a pacer from Km 102 to Finish Line. (I hope to be able to keep up with the task) I guess it’s the grandest street party again by Saturday to Sunday. I hope to see a lot of the familiar faces in the community. Blessings to all!
